Best Pantry Organization Ideas
1. Categorize by Group
First things first, take everything out of your current pantry at start building an organization system. Start with the easiest thing, grouping similar items by categories, such as baking supplies, cleaning, cans, drinks, snacks, etc. This will allow you to locate all the products you have in your kitchen pantry. I would even encourage you to take it further and assign a specific shelf for each category. Personally, cooking supplies go in the middle since I’m constantly using them, cleaning supplies are in the bottom, and the upper part of my pantry is saved for household paper products (extra paper towels, toilet, napkins, tablecloths, etc.)
2. Storage Bins and Baskets
You already expected these since they are so famous for being a versatile and practical solution for keeping your kitchen pantry tidy. Clear see-through bins will ensure the visibility of your pantry items and this will allow you to quickly identify the contents without needing to dig through each bin. You could also opt for storage baskets which will give you a more aesthetic look, I have a combination of both pantry organization containers throughout my pantry.
3. Incorporate Susan Spinners or Spice Racks
If you haven’t implemented susan spinners or spice racks in your kitchen before now is the perfect time. Both of them serve the same purpose, to maximize space and easy visual access (I know I’ve repeated this a couple of times already, but I swear these tips have helped me a lot). These spice racks are the perfect solution for pantry condiments organization, easily accessible while minimizing clutter, and these lazy susan spinners can help you quickly find and retrieve the item you need without needing to dig through the entire shelf or cabinet.
4. Clear Food Containers
If you ask me, airtight food containers are a great pantry organization idea and they are a double win for me because you can have a perfectly organized kitchen pantry (such as the ones you constantly see on TikTok and Pinterest) while preventing air and moisture from entering the vase when it’s sealed. These airtight containers are available in different sizes and they are stackable which will help you maximize space as well.
5. Label Everything
This might be my favorite part of organizing anything in my house, labels, labels, and labels. Whether you use clear bins, baskets, spinners, or racks, you will definitely will take advantage of labeling. Clear labels make it easy to identify items and they ensure the products are returned to their proper place. You can DYI labels at home or you can use a label maker (this one connects to your phone through Bluetooth).
6. Take Advantage of the Door
I had never thought of this before until I found this pantry door organizer. You can maximize the space by utilizing the inside of your kitchen pantry door. Add this door organizer and implement the same rules: label, and categorize by group and you will find this accessory way more useful than you could have expected.
7. Keep It Up
To maintain an organized pantry it’s important to establish good habits from the beginning. Make sure all items are consistently returned to their designated spots and try to involve your entire family in keeping the pantry organized!
